Upgrading from SSO HA 5.5 to PSC HA 6.5

This section outlines the process to upgrade from SSO 5.5 HA to PSC 6.5 HA using a Windows platform.

Configure your Load Balancer for PSC 6.5

Prepare your load balancer for PSC 6.5 HA as per the section “Prepare a Load Balancer” in this guide.

Note: As you are upgrading from an existing SSO 5.5 HA installation you may already have a portion of your Load Balancer already configured and a VIP for port 7444. You must ensure that the VIP for port 7444 remains until all vCenter Server 5.5 instances are upgrade to 6.5

Upgrade each SSO 5.5 to PSC 6.5

1. Mount the vCenter Server 6.5 installation media to the first SSO 5.5 server and perform an in-place upgrade to PSC 6.5

2. Mount the vCenter Server 6.5 installation media to the second SSO 5.5 server and perform an in-place upgrade to PSC 6.5

Configure PSC 6.5 HA

Configure the upgraded PSC 6.5 machines for PSC 6.5 HA as per the section “Run the PSC HA 6.5 Scripts” in this guide.

Upgrade vCenter Server 5.5 to vCenter Server 6.5

1. Mount the vCenter Server 6.5 installation media to the vCenter Server 5.5 server and perform an in-place upgrade to vCenter Server 6.5

2. Repeat for any additional vCenter Server 5.5 instances in this SSO Domain.
