Adding an additional PSC Node to an existing PSC HA 6.5 Environment

Deploy an Additional PSC Node

Deploy a new Platform Services Controller of the same version into the existing SSO Domain and existing Site.

Update the Load Balancer with an additional PSC

Update your Load Balancer with an additional PSC Node and ensure this node is also added to the relevant Pools and Virtual Servers.

Refer to the Prepare a Load Balancer section of this document and also refer to your Load Balancer vendor documentation.

Generate a new Certificate

Generate a new Certificate in the same manner as before but ensure that you add the additional PSC Nodes FQDN to the Certificate.

ALL PSC Node FQDNs must be present in the Certificate.

See the section Preparing a Certificate in this guide for more.

Install the new Certificate on all PSC Nodes

Install the new certificate that contains all PSC FQDN into all PSCs participating in PSC HA

See the section Replacing the Machine SSL Certificate for more detail.

Important: You must install this certificate in all PSC Nodes participating in PSC HA

Run the PSC HA Scripts on the additional PSC Node

Run both PSC HA scripts on the additional PSC Node.

See the section ‘Run the PSC 6.5 HA Scripts‘ in this document.

Restart vCenter Servers

If the PSC Certificates have changed, you must restart all vCenter Server instances that are associated with this PSC HA instance.

Other solutions like SRM, VRA, NSX, may need to be re-registered with the PSC HA Instance.
